SUBSTANCE: invention relates to purification of natural water using high-voltage discharges and can be used as a method of reducing concentration of phenol and methyl ethyl ketone in water. Method of purifying natural water from phenol and methyl ethyl ketone involves treating water with a high-voltage pulse discharge generated over its surface, using the surface layer of the liquid as one of the electrodes. High-voltage pulse discharge is initiated by pulses with front 0.1 < τ < 10 ns with average excitation power 1 < P < 10 W for one discharge gap with volume of up to 1 cm3.
EFFECT: efficient decomposition of phenol and methyl ethyl ketone in natural water, simple purification process.
