SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the production of nitrogen oxide from air using an electric discharge and can be used in medicine, biology, and scientific research. A distinctive feature of the device for producing nitric oxide is that the second electrode is made in the form of a sector of a disk with an angledα sharp edge and exhaust channel. The device is equipped with a source of ultraviolet radiation to illuminate the sharp edge of the second electrode, and the spectral range of ultraviolet radiation is selected from the condition for obtaining photoelectron emissionλ≤ 1,240/A, where A is the work function of the electrode material, eV,λ is the wavelength of ultraviolet radiation, nm, and the angleα selected from the condition of illuminating the first electrode with UV radiation reflected from the beveled edge of the second electrode. The outlet of the gas filter is connected to the inlet channel. The outlet channel is connected to the input of the pump, the output of which is connected to the input of the cleaning unit.

EFFECT: technical result is to increase the reliability of the device.
