FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy, specifically to a method for thermomechanical processing of bulk workpieces made from an alloy with shape memory effect based on titanium nickelide (TiNi), and can be used for making devices with shape memory effect in engineering and medical fields. Method of producing solid workpieces from nickel-transequiatomic titanium nickelide Ti49.3Ni50.7 with nanocrystalline structure includes deformation according to equal-channel angular pressing in quasi-continuous mode at temperature of 430-450 °C. Before deformation static aging is performed at temperature 430-450 °C for 1-5 hours with hardening in water, and deformation by quasi-continuous equal-channel angular pressing is carried out until accumulation of true deformation of more than 2.
EFFECT: improved complex of mechanical and functional properties of nickel-transequiatomic alloy with shape memory effect based on titanium nickelide due to increased efficiency of grain crushing.
