FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: device has crucible inside which stirrer is mounted. Stirrer is made in form of shaft with blades rigidly connected to shield whose width is equal to 0.45 to 0.6 of inner diameter of crucible. Shield is made in form of tubular loop' flat blades are arranged in three tiers at angle of 40 to 50 deg relative to shaft in horizontal and vertical planes; height of loop is equal to 0.6-0.7 of crucible height. EFFECT: enhanced homogeneity of glass being mixed.
