FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: method may be used in manufacturing of optical glass, which releases aggressive reaction products in process of melting, which destroy platinum. In platinum crucible with closed bottom nozzle small amount of crushed glass is melted, fire resistant, for instance quartz pot with hole in the bottom is submerged into glass mass, raw materials are melted in it, then pot is removed with full overflow of glass mass through bottom hole in platinum crucible. Instead of pot mixer is introduced, glass is melted according to ordinary technological mode for this glass. Glass mass is withdrawn through opened nozzle.

EFFECT: production of optical aggressive glass of high extent of homogeneity by index of refraction (to the 1st category) with minimum number of bubbles (to the class 2A).
