FIELD: test technique; inspection of structural materials for corrosion in chemically active media. SUBSTANCE: device has sealed annular compartments 4 formed by two coaxial cylinders 1, 2 and partitions 3 between them. Magnets 6 suspended in compartments from threads 5 destructing under effect of aggressive medium interact with respective magnetically sensing members 7 installed on mount 8 placed in shell 9 coaxially arranged relative to compartments 4. Walls of compartments contacting the aggressive medium and provided with standard sections of desired thickness are sequentially destructed with time depending on rate of corrosion of standard section material and its thickness. Thread 5 securing magnet 6 is destructed under effect of medium and magnet 6 starts displacing within compartment 4 while respective magnetically sensitive member 7 responds to this displacement and, hence, records destruction of standard section of definite thickness. EFFECT: improved reliability and safety of device operation due to additional sealing and use of contactless recording system. 1 dwg
