FIELD: seismic prospecting. SUBSTANCE: pneumatic source of seismic signals has cover, bottom, mobile cylinder, rod with pistons forming controlling chamber sealed by means of sealing rings put into annular grooves and sealed working chamber, guiding rings from antifriction material located in additional annular grooves and electric pneumatic valve. Guiding rings are spaced from sealing rings to opposite sides of controlling chamber and are manufactured from not less than two parts. Seal is supplemented with L section sealing ring located in shaped annular groove on outer side of ring sealing and protrusion facing inner wall of cylinder and houses magnetoelectrical interrupter of movement of mobile cylinder. Radius of inner surface of annular grooves is 1.5-2.0 times less than medium radius of guiding rings put in them. Clearance between outer surface of guiding rings and inner surface of cylinder is chosen by running fit and clearance between pistons and mobile cylinder is 2-4 times less. Sealing ring of T section is produced from high-strength flexible material and is used for radial movement. Area of surface of protrusion of ring is 5-10 times less than area of basic ring. Magnetoelectrical interrupter is manufactured in the form of sealed contact reed relay installed in cover opposite to upper butt of mobile cylinder and of permanent magnet placed uniaxially in L-shaped shelf of cover made of nonmagnetic material.
