FIELD: chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: aqueous solution of chrome (6+) oxide is reacted with formaldehyde feeding at the rate 0.2-0.35 kg/kg CrO3·4 at mass ratio Cr(6+): CH2O (1.4-1.6): 1 at 90-95 C. Reaction mixture is treated with formic acid adding at concentration providing mass ratio Crобщ:HCOOH 0.35 -0.37 :1 : HCOOH = (0.35-0.37): 1. The end product is crystallized. Method ensures to decrease formic acid consumption more than 1.5 times. EFFECT: decreased consumption of formic acid.
