FIELD: hydrometallurgy of gold. SUBSTANCE: gold from cyanide liquid is sorbed on activated coal by countercurrent method, and then gold from coal is desorbed with 0.04% alkali solution for 4 h. The content of metallic gold in desorbed coal is 0.15 mg/g. Desorbed coal is treated with 0.1% sodium cyanide for 1 h. As a result, gold is reprecipitated on coal in the form of cyanide complex which does not interfere the gold sorption from "tail" technological liquid in the process of regenerated coal recovery.
