FIELD: plastic metal working. SUBSTANCE: method includes cyclic loading of hydraulic cylinder 1 with internal pressure, location of fatigue crack 2 by means of signals of acoustic emission coming from two transducers of resonance type. Vessel under pressure is sealed, and internal pressure is increased up to the moment of formation of plastic blunting of apex of crack 2. The moment is detected by value of acoustic emission signal. In case of sharp rise of signal value, increase of pressure in hydraulic cylinder is discontinued, pressure is decreased to zero, and hydraulic cylinder 1 is depressurized. Installed in grooves 3 on article surface is steel band 4 with spherical outer surface. Placed on band are two steel semirings in zone of each groove 3 and locked in this position by means of fasteners. Then, fasteners 8 and 9 are installed in holes and formed rings 10 are drawn together by fasteners. EFFECT: prolonged service life of vessel by retarding rate of crack growth. 3 dwg
