FIELD: microbiology. SUBSTANCE: temperature of the heat-insulating fermenter is increased by linear law from the parent value T1 to value T2 and power value PW consumpted for this heating is measured. Also, power values PI1 and PI2 consumpted for temperature maintenance in fermenter at temperatures T1 and T2 were measured, respectively. Mass M of cultural fluid in fermenter is determined in accordance with the law of conservation of energy: M = (PW-PE-(PI1 + PI2)/2)/(C x U) where: U - rate of the schedule heating; C - specific heat of fluid and PE - power consumpted for empty fermenter heating that is calculated by the preliminary calibration.
