FIELD: measurement technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for determining efficiency of mass exchange equipment with mechanical mixing. Method for determining the volumetric mass transfer coefficient of mass-exchange apparatus with mechanical mixing according to empirical equations, which are presented in the form of: KLa=A*Nvn*ϕm, h-1, where: Nv is specific power, W/kg; ϕ is gas content, %; A, n, m are coefficients specific for this type of apparatus. Gas content in the apparatus is defined as the ratio of the volume of the gas phase to the volume of the gas-liquid mixture. Method is characterized by that in order to obtain high reliability of determining volume ratio of mass transfer in a wide range of speeds of mixer, simple and fast method of determining specific power is carried out in a liquid-air system at room temperature, measuring increase in temperature of liquid in time, which occurs due to transition of mechanical energy of rotation of mixer drive electric motor into heat energy, and specific power is determined by formula: Nv=C*(t1-t2)/Δτ, where: C is specific heat of liquid, Wh/kg°C; t1-t2 – difference of water temperature during determination, °C; Δτ is determination time, h.
EFFECT: high accuracy and shorter time for determining the volumetric mass transfer coefficient.
