SUBSTANCE: invention relates to apparatuses designed to product, via gas-phase method, superfine powders of metals and alloys of difficultly volatile and volatile elements and also for applying metal coatings in microelectronics, metallurgy, and electrochemistry. Evaporator has closed cylindrical container 1 with vapor outlet port 5 with diameter db= (A•dkl)0,25-0,4dk; separated from it, heater 3 with diameter dh= do-(0,5dk-a) fixed by means of nonconductors 4 at distance a from port 5; a = (B•dk•l)0,25-(C•dk•l)0,25; where dk is diameter of container 1; l is length of container 1; A, B, and C are empirical coefficients equal to 0.66, 2•10-3, and 10•10-3 sq.mm, respectively.
