FIELD: production of ultradispersed powders out of metals and alloys by means of gas-phase method, as well as metal plating in vacuum. SUBSTANCE: evaporator consists of heater, cylindrical screen, container with cylindrical cells forming vessel for melt, channels for melt inlet and melt vapor outlet. Cylindrical screen and container located therein are placed inside of heater. Cylindrical cells are formed by disk-like plates with circular groove in middle portion of plates. Plates are installed one above the other on carrying rod. Rod is coupled with cover of cylindrical screen. Over axis of rod inlet channel is located for supply of melt. Channel is introduced into upper cylindrical cell and is in communication with subsequent cells through overflow distributing branch pipes. Channel for melt outlet is formed by circular gap between end of outside vertical wall of plate and base of previous plate, cover of cylindrical screen, outside walls of plates, base of lower plate, inside walls of cylindrical screen and hole of inlet nozzle. Nozzle is installed in bottom of cylindrical screen along axis of carrying rod opposite window in heater. Relationship between cross-section area of nozzle hole and total area of inside bottom portion of all cylindrical cells is equal to (2÷7)•10-3. Relationship between width of end of outside vertical wall of plate and value of circular gap between end of outside vertical wall of plate and base of previous plate, as well as cover of cylindrical screen is equal to 3-10.
