APPARATUS FOR VIBRATION PULSED TREATMENT OF MELTED METAL Russian patent published in 1995 - IPC

FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has pulsed currents generator, boom with fixed on it discharging chamber with emitter. Fixation of discharging chamber is exercised by adjustable spring suspension. Emitter one end is inserted in discharging chamber through membrane and is provided with deflectors of hydraulic streams, making function of negative electrode. Positive electrodes are located along perimeter of discharging chamber and directed to emitter, working end of which is plunged into melted metal in the ladle. During apparatus operation electric discharges, formed in working fluid, that fills the chamber, incandesce chamber with emitter on suspension until the system comes into stationary resonance mode, characterized by significant vibrations of emitter. It causes intensive mixing of smelt, its degassing, equalizing of temperature and chemical composition along volume of ladle. Use of the apparatus allows to increase volume and quality of treated melted metal. EFFECT: increase of efficiency of treatment. 1 dwg
