FIELD: plastic metal working. SUBSTANCE: method involves machining, stabilizing an optical surface. grinding and plotting. Stabilization is carried out by surface-plastic deformation with a flow of the suspension of glass microscopic balls, 100-150 microns in diameter, acting on a revolving workpiece. Relations of peening degrees on the central and peripheral portions of the reflecting surface range from 0.5 to 2.0 while pressure of suspension is changed from the larger radius of curvature on the periphery to a smaller radius in the center and vice versa. This produces circular zones on the workpiece characterized by different microhardness. EFFECT: reduced number of operations and higher labor efficiency. 1 dwg
