FIELD: production of black-and-white sensitive materials. SUBSTANCE: emulsion with silver iodide content of 5.1-3 mol-percent at pH value of 7 ± 0.5 and pBr value of 2.2-3.2 (in melt) is sequentially doped with cyanine dyes of formulae I (image), II , III (image) or dye of formula I with compound of formula IY , where or 1,1'-diethylxyno- 2,2'-monomethylcyanine, or structure , or with compound of formula Y , or with that of formula YI , or with compounds of formulae II and Y in amount of (65-200)·10-6 M/M of silver halogenide. Each time introduction of sensitizing dye is followed by introduction of spectral sensitization activator of formula YII in amount of 1M/M of sensitizer. EFFECT: improved light sensitivity of photographic emulsion within range of 500-630 nm and reduced residual dyeing of photographic layers upon chemical and photographic treatment. 2 tbl
