FIELD: chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of the fluorinated xylenes. Process is carried out by treatment of the parent mixture with bromine and antimony pentafluoride at their mole ratio = 1: (4.5-5.5): (0.22-0.28) for 4-5 h at the room temperature followed by isolation of the end product by rectification. Yield of the end product is 52.6% at basic substance content 99%. EFFECT: simplified method. 1 tbl
