FIELD: antenna measurement technology; checking antenna characteristics without radiating into the air. SUBSTANCE: signals arriving from free space at antenna input within working angles of directivity pattern are simulated by using extender 1 installed in aperture of analyzed antenna feed. Signal comes to input from mode separator 3 whose two pairs of inputs receive signal from two hybrid rings with twin waveguide T-bridge 6 and 9 and adjustable phase shifters 5 and 8 inserted in each of two circuits of hybrid rings. Connected to E-inputs of T-bridges 6 and 9 are outputs of third hybrid ring with third twin waveguide T-bridge 11 whose E-input is connected to output of generator 19. Outputs of analyzed antenna 15 are connected to inputs of bearing-finder signal shaping unit 16 whose output is connected to input of recorder 17. Field structure in mode separator 3 is varied by adjusting phase shifters 5 and 8 which corresponds to angular displacement of simulated target. EFFECT: improved validity of check results. 2 dwg
