FIELD: agriculture. SUBSTANCE: potato plants are treated with fusicoccin solution, concentration 0.68-68 mg/l at budding stage or sprinkling them in autumn before putting in storage at the rate of 200 ml of fusicoccin solution per 100 g. Tubers are put in storage at 4 C in the course for 8 months, taking in account germination of tubers and their infection with phytopathogenic fungi. Resistance of tubers to diseases is determined by infecting tubers treated with fusicoccin with causative agents of potato diseases. Tubers treated with fusicoccin are twofold - fourfold less infected by phytopathogenic fungi in case of artificial infection as compared with those treated with a hydrel solution. 7-8 months after treatment with fusicoccin the tubers acquire 100 % resistance to diseases accompanied by inhibition of their germinating ability. EFFECT: reduced losses of potato in storage achieved by the use of fusicoccin for regulating plant growth and promoting resistance of potato tubers to diseases. 3 tbl
