FIELD: organic chemistry. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to heterocyclic compounds, in part, 4-(benzimidazolyl-2')-quinoline methylsulfate hydrate - a parent compound for synthesis of 1-methyl-4-(benzimidazolydene-2')-1,4-dihydroquinoline. Synthesis of the parent compound is carried out by reaction of 2-(4'-quinolyl)-benzimidazole hydrate with dimethylsulfate in acetone medium. Yield is 65%, m. p. is 257-258 C, empirical formula is C18H49N3SO5.. Synthesis of an active compound is carried out by reaction of synthesized substance with an aqueous-alcoholic solution of alcali (KOH). Yield is 90%, m. p. is 250 C, empirical formula is C17H15N3O,. Corrosion rate in acid medium containing 0.05-0.8 g/l inhibitor is 65.2-97.5% at 30 C in 10% HCl at simultaneous effect on microorganisms.
