FIELD: electrical engineering. SUBSTANCE: multiple action commutator is designed for use in heavy-current and high- voltage electric circuits of pulse power supply sources with inductive storages. Commutator has contact system composed of set of mobile contacts 1 of membrane type alternating with immobile contacts 2. Contact system is positioned in inner space of commutator filled with liquid dielectric 3. Body of commutator has insulation cylinder 4 and insulation flanges 5 and 6. Electrodynamic drive of commutator includes field structure 7 and restoring metal piston 8 located on ribbed backing 9. Pneumatic fast-acting valve 10 with induction-dynamic drive is placed in inner space of contact system. Its inductor is manufactured in the form of multiturn coil 11 pressed into additional volumes 13 having circular shape. They communicate with space formed in gap between field structure 7 and metal piston 8 with the aid of family of holes made in insulation cylinder.
