FIELD: heat- and mass-transfer technology; may be used in pressure digesting of bauxites in alumina preparation. SUBSTANCE: autoclave consists of cylindrical vertical body having inlets and outlets of pulp and, steam outlets and circulating tube installed inside body. Pulp inlet is installed inside circulating tube from below, and steam inlet is installed in the same from atop and provided with steam baffle plate. Besides, pulp outlet is connected with body hollow through header and separate branch pipes located over circumference of body and whose ends are installed at the level of upper edge of circulating tube. Upon supply of pulp and heating steam into device, pulp circulation is started due to difference of density of material. Pulp rises in tube, and lowers outside of it.
