FIELD: silica production. SUBSTANCE: method includes two heating steps. First, surface heating of preheated bauxite slurry is performed by way of bringing the latter in contact with surface of the immersion tubes of steam boiler operating with water circulation (tubes are surrounded by hermetic housing). Slurry is heated in this step from about 135-138 C to 205-208 C. In the second step, slurry is heated to 235-238 C being in direct contact with live steam in heating autoclaves. Live steam used may originate from the same steam boiler utilized for surface heating of slurry. EFFECT: enhanced process efficiency. 2 cl, 1 dwg
