FIELD: sealing devices. SUBSTANCE: high pressure 2 and low pressure 3 spaces are separated in sealing unit with floating ring 1 installed on casing of stator 4. Said ring is joined with stator 4 by end surfaces 5 which embrace shaft 6 and form annular chamber 9. There is deformable thin-walled bushing 8 of L-shaped cross section in which high crushing stresses arise as well as considerable motions on its end portion at the side of low-pressure side 3. As pressure differential grows, end contact of bushing with ring 1 is disturbed in transition operating mode. When pressure rises on ring 1, it is loaded on outer radius and the heaviest loading occurs in the zone adjoining the end joint of surfaces 5 of ring 1 and stator 4 while the remaining portion of ring may have thin walls. EFFECT: higher reliability in broader range of loads, and reduced leaks. 9 dwg
