FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: method includes operations of polishing and burnishing. The burnishing is carried out in two stages. The standard pressure P2 in the processing zone and the velocity V2 of the tool shifting at the second stage are determined on condition that where P1 is the value of the standard pressure at the first stage of burnishing, ρ is the edge radius of the abrasive grain of the tool, h1 is the depth of forcing the abrasive grain at the first stage of burnishing, V1 is the speed of the tool shifting at the first stage of burnishing, fb is the burnishing factor at the first stage, ff in the friction coefficient at the second stage of burnishing.
