FIELD: oil processing. SUBSTANCE: residual oil fraction being purified against resins and polycyclic aromatic compounds are brought into contact with catalyst. Said catalyst contains (mass %): zeolite having high silicate content 44.0-55.3, magnesium-aluminium silicate 4.0-18.2, tungsten oxide 10.9-15.8, nickel oxide 3.0-5.0, aluminium oxide the rest. The process is carried out at 390-430 C and pressure 3-10 MPa in the presence of hydrogen-containing gas, volume rate of supply of raw materials being 0.5-1.0 h-1. EFFECT: improves efficiency of method.
