FIELD: mining industry. SUBSTANCE: packer has body 1 with sealing member 2, powder chamber 4 with powder charge 4, electrical igniter 5 and electric initiator. The latter is made by employing transformer system with transformer secondary winding whose core is made in form of two rings 6 with rods 7 and secondary windings 8. Packer lower part has end piece 9. Powder chamber 3 accommodated piston 10 with retaining member 11. Core of transformer primary winding has length equal to distance between rings 6 of secondary winding core 8. Packer is run into well. Then, run into well on cable 17 is primary winding and a.c. voltage is supplied to it. When winding 15 passes through interval between rings 6 of transformer, electromotive force is induced in transformer secondary windings 8. At the same time, electromagnetic field of primary winding 15 closes contacts of reed relay to connect electric igniter 5 to secondary winding. Electric igniter 5 operates, powder charge 4 is ignited and pressure of formed powder gases makes piston 10 compress sealing member 2 to increase its diameter to tightly close circular gap between packer and well.
