FIELD: knitting engineering. SUBSTANCE: thread carrier rails have longitudinal grooves on the lateral surface and shock absorbers limiting movement of balls placed in the longitudinal grooves. Body of each thread carrier has two locks, each having the form of double-armed lever with one arm as a heel and the second one having a sharp point engageable with balls, a longitudinally movable irregularly-shaped plate with teeth engageable with a gripping lever and profile grooves guiding lock heel movements. The thread carrier gripping mechanism has a slide bar connected with electromagnet and engageable with the lock heels.
