FIELD: metallurgy; applicable in production of hot-rolled pickled strips from carbon steel. SUBSTANCE: method for production of strips from carbon steel includes hot rolling of strips, coiling them into rolls, roll cooling down to 350- 430 C at the rate of 25-40 C/min. Then, cooling is completed at arbitrary rate, and scale is removed. In this case, the formed scale is easily pickled and has high content of metal iron. EFFECT: higher efficiency of the pickling process and quality of strip surface with simultaneous improvement of uniformity of mechanical properties along its length. 1 tbl
