FIELD: nuclear reactors. SUBSTANCE: method involves heating of core by heater building up definite pattern of temperature distribution over ball charge; analysis is made by varying position and size of core and reflectors relative to desired temperature pattern created by heater through partial replacement of fuel elements by balls of reactor material or vice verse over core periphery. EFFECT: enlarged experimental capabilities.
