FIELD: machine-tool manufacture. SUBSTANCE: secured on each jaw is elastic-deformation member which consists of fixed part 11 and movable part 14 formed by slot 15. Secured on fixed part 11 is drive which has rod 21 and coil 22. Rod 21 is engageable with movable part 14 which has clamping surface. Securing the part is effected through motion of jaws by means of wedge mechanism operated by rod. Maximum effect may be obtained when chuck is used in machines with opposite spindles. After machining one side of part 18, it is clamped by chuck of opposite spindle. As a result, misalignment arises between actual position of part axis and axis of rotation of counter-spindle which is measured and is transformed into signal to control current in coils 22. Change of lengths of rods 21 and their action on movable parts 14 make it possible to shift axis of part 18, thus extending technological probabilities through high accuracy of manufacture. EFFECT: extended probabilities through high accuracy of manufacture. 3 cl, 4 dwg
