FIELD: shipbuilding; buoyancy modules for deep-water equipment.
SUBSTANCE: proposed buoyancy module that has cylindrical case with spherical ends incorporates external ribbed fiberglass plastic shell and internal corrugated metal shell. Ribs of fiberglass plastic shell are disposed in corrugation valleys of metal shell and space between shells is filled with spheroplast material.
EFFECT: enhanced carrying capacity and reduced specific mass of module.
