FIELD: shipbuilding; submarine periscopes.
SUBSTANCE: periscope vibration reducing device is made in the form of rigid wing-shaped fairwater with relative thickness of 25-30%. Fairwater is drawn out of submarine outer hull section behind periscope (in periscope wake) by means of self-contained hydraulically-operated hoist or periscope hydraulically-operated hoist.
EFFECT: reduced vibrations caused by vortex separation, ability of using periscope at higher submarine speeds.
