SUBMARINE PERISCOPE Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

FIELD: optical instrumentation engineering; devices for optical guiding and sighting devices. SUBSTANCE: proposed periscope includes standard fixed on submarine pressure hull perisope mast tightly mounted inside it for vertical motion by means of hoisting mechanism; it is also used for connecting the head section pf periscope with band consisting of two interconnected parts. One part of band is connected with periscope standard for vertical motion and other part is rotatable relative to vertical axis of periscope; it is secured to periscope mast. Periscope does not penetrate into pressure hull of submarine. Hoisting mechanism located inside periscope standard includes electric motor with reduction and two vertical motion screws. Upper and lower ends of these screws are connected respectively with upper part and base of standard for rotation around vertical axis parallel to periscope axis. Each motion screw is kinematically linked with first non-revolving part of band by means of floating nut. EFFECT: enhanced reliability; ease of maintenance of periscope. 3 cl, 1 dwg
