FIELD: environment control, in particular, remote measurement of meteorological atmospheric parameters.

SUBSTANCE: method is based on recording intensity of radiation having passed the turbulent atmosphere and determining the dispersion of its fluctuations. Before recording, radiation is received from point source having passed the turbulent atmosphere, which source is collimated and spectrally filtered. Spot image of source is recorded on aperture during freeze. Intensity level on spot image is measured. Measurements are repeated with time intervals. Average intensity and average number of spots are determined. After determining intensity fluctuations, internal scale of atmospheric turbulence is determined.

EFFECT: increased precision, expanded functional capabilities.
