FIELD: test equipment.
SUBSTANCE: method relates to the field of gas dynamic studies in supersonic units and can be used for simulation of conditions of flowing of bodies moving in atmosphere at hypersonic speeds. The essence of the method consists in that into the main air flow an additional gas flow is supplied. An additional gas is the mix of nitrous oxide and nitrogen which is obtained by mixing at room temperature. Meanwhile the temperature of near-wall gas layer in the prechamber is no more than 700°K.
EFFECT: improvement of reliability of protection of prechamber walls from thermal and chemical action of high-temperature air, and also expansion of the range of values of enthalpy, pressure and working flow rate.
