FIELD: internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: process provides use as the substrate low-cost, heat-resistant foil containing 15-23 % of chromium and 4.5-5.1 % of aluminum with aluminum oxide-base coating which is applied to it in 0,7-1,5 % sodium hydroxide solution by direct dissolving aluminum turnings in it followed by drying and calcination. The catalyst is manufactured by coating such carrier with admixture which contains as active components platinum and rhodium applied to the substrate by diffusion of their chlorides from aqueous solutions, which are then reduced in steam of hydrogen gas. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency.
