SUBSTANCE: preparation of honeycomb- structured metallic block catalyst for neutralizing harmful gaseous emissions consists in preliminarily treating inert carrier, depositing, onto the surface of the latter, intermediate coating from modified aluminum oxide and one or several catalytically active platinum-group metals. According to invention, carrier in the form of Al- containing foil block is first calcined at 850-920 C in air or oxygen current during 12-15 h.
