FIELD: coal and fuel industries. SUBSTANCE: the process comprises impregnating a porous carbon filer (petroleum coke, activated carbon and electrode production waste) with a hydrocarbon-containing binder (asphalt; pitch, cracking residue, coal-tar resin) while stirring and heating, adding the impregnated carbon filler to crushed brown coal in an amount of 5-25 wt % and mixing them, compressing briquettes from the mixture at 40-80 deg C and 80-120 MPa. EFFECT: greater heating capacity and compression strength, lower moisture absorption and ash content in fuel briquettes. 1 tbl
