FIELD: metallurgy, chemical heat treatment of metallic material surfaces. SUBSTANCE: steel products are heated to a temperature 450-500 C in ammonia medium and allowed to stay for 20-25 min. Thereafter, gaseous products are evacuated, and impregnation process is carried out in fluid medium including the following components, % by weight: boron carbide 1-5; copper oxide 0.01-0.05; sodium tetrafluoroborate 0.1-0.5 and corundum 94.4-98.89.
