FIELD: metallurgy; thermochemical treatment of metals and alloys; enhancing wear-, heat- and corrosion-resistance of machine elements for metallurgy, aviation, chemical industry, shipbuilding, mechanical engineering, etc. SUBSTANCE: method includes heating, saturation in powder-like medium containing boron carbide, silicon, copper-containing component and ammonium chloride followed by cooling. Boron-silicon cladding is effected in fluidized bed at temperature of 600-1000 C in powder-like medium additionally containing sodium tetrafluoroborate, corundum, cuprous oxide used as cuprum-containing component at the following relationship of components, mas.%: boron carbide, 5-25; silicon, 2-10; cuprous oxide, 0.05-0.25; sodium tetrafluoro borate, 0.1-0.5; ammonium chloride, 0.1-0.25; corundum, 64-92.75; in the course of heating to temperatures of boron- silicon cladding, articles are kept at temperature of 350-500 C for 5-25 min. EFFECT: improved quality of treated surface of articles; reduction of friability of coat by 1.5-2 times; reduction of time required for treatment of articles in power-like medium by 2-4 times. 1 tbl
