FIELD: hydraulic engineering. SUBSTANCE: method includes excavation of initial section of trench 1 under clay suspension. Attached to excavating member 2 of continuing action is car 3 carrying drum 4 with flexible band wound on. Band has rough and/or open porous surface touching curtain foot. At the beginning of work, end of strip 5 is secured to edge of trench 1, loop is lowered into trench and noncementing impervious material 8 is filled on it to press strip 5 to bottom of trench 1 by filler mass. Then, further excavation of trench is carried out with parallel transfer of strip 5 together with drum 4 in wake of excavating member 2, unreeling of strip 5 from drum 4 and placing filter 8 into trench are performed.
