FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: piston machine has housing with cylinders 1 which receive pistons 2 with rods 3 connected with guide members 4 and working rollers 5 which are engageable with curvilinear groove 6 of cylindrical cam 7 connected with output shaft 8 which holds flywheel 9. Guide members 4 may be made in form of rollers 10 or sliders engageable with main guide surfaces 11. Rods 3 of pistons 2 are interconnected by means of carriage 14 which is connected in its turn with two guide members 4 engageable with main guide surface 11 and additional guide surfaces 15. Cross-piece is mounted on axle 18 of carriage 14 for rotation relative to axle 18 in plane parallel to plane passing through axes of cylinders 1. Mounted on cross-piece are: main working roller 5 and additional working roller 4 whose axes of revolution intersect in center of rotation of cam 7. To reduce dynamic loads, curvilinear groove 6 of cylindrical cam 7 may be made of such configuration at which pistons 2 move according to the harmonic (cosine) law.
