FIELD: wood working. SUBSTANCE: when working a squared timber basing and orienting operations are made simultaneously through two mutually perpendicular generatrices. The squared timber is worked in one pass without changing its orientation. Then the remained generatrices are shaped and finished, these operations may be made also simultaneously. The squared timber is based by two clamping members self-setting relative to one of the side generatrices. Each member moves by a different value depending on the curvature of the squared timber before coming in contact with its surface. EFFECT: improved quality. 3 cl
