FIELD: high-pressure vessels. SUBSTANCE: vessel comprises casing in the form of cylindrical shell merging at one end into spherical bottom with throat while at the other end it merges into spherical bottom. Bottoms are thicker and cylindrical shell is thinner than are the walls. The zones where thicker spherical bottoms merge into shell have conic portions with the following relations: T/t-1.4-2, l/t- 2-5 where l - zone where bottom merges with cylindrical shell, t - thickness of cylindrical shell, T - thickness of spherical bottom (thickness of source material). Design of vessel eliminates edge effects thereby enhancing the strength characteristics. EFFECT: improved design. 2 dwg
