FIELD: electrical engineering. SUBSTANCE: device includes gaseous-discharge cylindrical tube made of dielectric with metal electrodes placed inside tube and linked to power supply source with preionization electrodes located on outer surface of tube and connected to high-voltage pulse generator. Cross-section dimension of preionization electrode is not more 0.6 and not less than 0.4 of tube diameter. Preionization electrodes may be manufactured in the form of double spiral with axis coinciding with axis of tube. EFFECT: improved operational characteristics. 2 cl, 2 dwg
