FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: method involves rotation of a blank mounted with displacement relative to the axis of rotation, and tool translational movement. The method also involves preliminary measuring hole axis deviations from linearity in two mutually perpendicular axial planes in 10-15 cross sections of the blank, calculation of parameters of blank setting when boring depending on the measuring results and blank setting in a deep boring machine providing concentricity of the axis of rotation to two design cross sections of the blank. Relations for calculating blank setting when boring holes for compression, for extension, and extension after preliminary boring for boring are presented. EFFECT: improved quality. 4 cl, 2 dwg, 7 tbl
