FIELD: weapons and ammunition.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of barrels of artillery pieces, particularly, tank and anti-tank guns. Method of making barrels of artillery pieces, in which barrel blank is installed in a horizontal boring machine, and before the start of boring, position of billet channel axis is measured to determine value of required shift of bore axis relative to billet channel axis. At that, angle of required displacement of axis of bore is determined relative to billet channel axis to align plane of bore with plane of maximum deviation from billet channel straightness. Adjustment of the position of the cutting block of the boring head is performed taking into account the calculated value of displacement of the bore axis relative to the billet channel axis and angle of required displacement of the bore axis.
EFFECT: improved quality of tool barrels during production.
