FIELD: machining of metals. SUBSTANCE: cutter holder has cutting plate and insert with detector, which has coaxial light guide and hermetically sealed vacuumized cavity. Cavity is partially filled with fluid body and is disposed in insert. Cavity is provided with two communicated channels, whose longitudinal axes are positioned perpendicular to cutter basic plane. Light guide extends into one of these channels. Light guide core is adapted for connected with light energy source and tube is adapted for connection with light energy converter.
